I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been experiencing these symptoms for so long. Having persistent headache and dizziness for a whole week is not normal. Since you have tried over-the-counter medicines to no avail, your symptoms have lasted this long and aren’t improving, I strongly recommend seeing a doctor for a thorough evaluation.
Just to be sure on the over-the-counter or pharmacy medications tried, here are some options for headaches & dizziness:

    • Paracetamol – pain reliever
    • NSAIDs like ibuprofen or naproxen – pain reliever
    • Cinnarizine – for dizziness
    • Dimenhydrinate, Promethazine – for dizziness –> this may cause drowsiness

If you are unsure at the pharmacy, you can check with the pharmacist for assistance on the drug as well as the dosage instructions.
When you visit the doctor, it’ll be helpful to share some details about your symptoms. You can take down some notes of the below so you can share them with the doctor during consultation:

    • Duration of symptoms – constant or come-and-go
    • Other accompanying symptoms – besides headaches and dizziness, do you experience nausea, fever or other symptoms?
    • What you have tried – Let them know the medications you have tried and their effects, this helps the doctor rule out conditions and helps with the diagnosis
    • Triggers – what seems to trigger your symptoms? E.g. fatigue, loud noises etc may exacerbate your headaches
    • Patterns – does your headache or dizziness get worse at certain times or in specific situations/circumstances?

In the meantime, if you have not been consistent with your lifestyle factors, make sure you’re staying hydrated, getting enough rest, and avoiding any known triggers to maximise your comfort.
Do reach out to your doctor and hope you feel better soon!
    Marie
